The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Odell Laforge hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. In the 6th minute Amos Haas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cornell Aragon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 8 minutes into the match, Kirkella FC's Valère Joly sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Reuben Lin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valère Joly in the 11th minute of play forced Waterdown's goalkeeper Reuben Lin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Valère Joly had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elvis Kincaid hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. In the 14th minute, Kirkella FC's Antwan Hobson ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Reuben Lin. Reuben Lin yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Cornell Aragon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jérôme Alfaro in the 19th minute of play. Reuben Lin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antwan Hobson in the 20th minute. Valère Joly received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Reuben Lin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mitch Magee kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Cornell Aragon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jérôme Alfaro's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Kirkella FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jérôme Alfaro came free, but Cornell Aragon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Waterdown booed when Kirkella FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stewart Crowell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jérôme Alfaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cornell Aragon having to interfere. Reuben Lin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valère Joly, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Stewart Crowell's late challenge caught a Waterdown's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Stewart Crowell helped the player get up and apologised. In the 46th minute there was a penalty for Waterdown. Kurt Proulx stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Cornell Aragon. 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Valère Joly to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Waterdown's goal looked a bit too open when Valère Joly came free, but Reuben Lin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 54th minute Valère Joly shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reuben Lin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Waterdown's Guillermo Savage got a free kick in the 55th minute. Elvis Kincaid was shown his second yellow card after 57 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Elvis Kincaid hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Antwan Hobson in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Reuben Lin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Reuben Lin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valère Joly in the 63rd minute of play. Jérôme Alfaro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 68thth minute tested the skills of Cornell Aragon when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Reuben Lin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antwan Hobson in the 74th minute of the match. In the 83rd minute, Isaiah Dougherty got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kirkella FC's Antwan Hobson got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Reuben Lin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antwan Hobson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. For all the effort they put into the match, the Waterdown players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Kirkella FC.
