A very good chance. Milo Kaplan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gregorio Fountain having to interfere. 21 minutes into the game, Roberto Chaussée cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Gregorio Fountain was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dave Cowan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Ashley Storey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 34th minute Niagara FC were awarded a corner. Ronny Sapp went to the cornerflag to take it. Gregorio Fountain took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Milo Kaplan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th minute, Warner Tatum hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Félix Weathers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Isidore Mock fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ralston FC's protests and gave Isidore Mock a yellow card for diving instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Félix Weathers stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, one of Niagara FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Niagara FC. When Dave Cowan came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Ralston FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dave Cowan couldn't finish the play. Roberto Chaussée fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gregorio Fountain having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roberto Chaussée got free with Gregorio Fountain in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gregorio Fountain made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Milo Kaplan in the 80th minute of play. Gregorio Fountain took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Milo Kaplan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Roberto Chaussée could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Gregorio Fountain made a huge save. Gregorio Fountain made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Roberto Chaussée sent off a good shot on target. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
