Trail's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gunworth the free kick. A collision led to Trail getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. The Trail fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aurelio Peters should have stopped the shot. 38 minutes into the match, Florencio Lemieux dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Nazaire Bloom, 1-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hung Rosa got free with Nazaire Bloom in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emery Hurley to make the kick off. Hung Rosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aurelio Peters was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dewey Hutchinson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 86thth minute tested the skills of Aurelio Peters when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Rick Drake had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emery Hurley's late challenge caught a Trail's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Emery Hurley helped the player get up and apologised. In the 96th minute, Emery Hurley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 98th minute of the match Spencer Riel shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nazaire Bloom showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The Gunworth players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Trail from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
