Hollis Braden was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in CA River Plate's zone, Sang Keith stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hollis Braden came out of the goal and Sang Keith tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ahmad Jernigan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hollis Braden having to interfere. Hollis Braden took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ahmad Jernigan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Netashquan booed when CA River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Davis Lara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edgardo Tompkins could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Willy Lafond made a huge save. 20 minutes into the match, Netashquan's goalkeeper Willy Lafond had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Karl Létourneau. Wilmer Major sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 23rd match minute, Netashquan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ahmad Jernigan to maneuver through the defense. Wilmer Major fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willy Lafond having to interfere. Hyman Richards fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willy Lafond having to interfere. Wilmer Major received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Willy Lafond tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Wilmer Major had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dewey Drouin charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dewey Drouin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dewey Drouin kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. If Davis Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Stephan Deniger to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Lionel Jacques had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Willy Lafond. Netashquan's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lionel Jacques was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Andreas Lacombe took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 57th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Hollis Braden. CA River Plate's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Netashquan's zone, Lionel Jacques stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Willy Lafond came out of the goal and Lionel Jacques tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Netashquan's Willy Lafond played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lionel Jacques in the 70th minute of play. Willy Lafond showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilmer Major, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Willy Lafond came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by CA River Plate's Wilmer Major. But to his dismay, Wilmer Major quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Edgardo Tompkins struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Willy Lafond didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CA River Plate. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Wilmer Major managed to get in a good position for a shot. CA River Plate's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilmer Major was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Willy Lafond breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Karl Létourneau fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willy Lafond having to interfere. CA River Plate's Lionel Jacques got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wilmer Major sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 87 minutes of play, CA River Plate's Lionel Jacques made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lionel Jacques might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Willy Lafond. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lionel Jacques ran back to his position shaking his head. Wilmer Major sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee ended the match the CA River Plate players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
