Ulrich Schroeder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alberto Laderoute having to interfere. Ulrich Schroeder struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Alberto Laderoute didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Midhurst. Midhurst's Garfield McDonald got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 29 minutes into the match, Midhurst's goal looked a bit too open when Dick Jacob came free, but Fredric Duran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alberto Laderoute showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Garfield McDonald in the 32nd minute of the match. If Garfield McDonald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Midhurst fans cheered their team off the field, for while Lucerne had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
