After 3 played minutes, Athalmer AFC's Jack Owen shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Léon Clément came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Athalmer AFC reached it. Boniface Lawler kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. After 10 played minutes, Athalmer AFC's Paul Bennett shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Léon Clément came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. Gustave Jenkins might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Walton Deaton. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gustave Jenkins ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Firmin Faucher managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leslieville's supporters rose to their feet, but Firmin Faucher was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Walton Deaton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Renard Shook in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Léon Clément saved Leslieville from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gustave Jenkins in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Walton Deaton prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Leslieville booed when Athalmer AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paul Bennett didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 34th minute of the match Coy Poe sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Walton Deaton skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, Athalmer AFC's Jess Putnam got a free kick in the 39th minute. An unexpected shot in the 44th minute by Renard Shook got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Renard Shook stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Gustave Jenkins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Firmin Faucher could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Walton Deaton made a huge save. Firmin Faucher scored 0-1 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Walton Deaton, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Renard Shook sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th minute, Ward Andrews hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paul Bennett was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 65th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Léon Clément showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Renard Shook, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Walton Deaton made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Firmin Faucher sent off a good shot on target. When Gustave Jenkins came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Leslieville fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustave Jenkins couldn't finish the play. In the 74th minute, Basil Gauthier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Foster Kimbrough fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Léon Clément having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Firmin Faucher got free with Walton Deaton in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Foster Kimbrough sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 94 minutes into the match, Athalmer AFC's Foster Kimbrough sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Léon Clément narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Leslieville players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
