In the 10th minute Chris Presley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clark Caballero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Boyd McCracken made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kory Rosa in the 15th minute of play. In the 16th minute, Perdue's Yong Fairchild ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Clark Caballero. Clark Caballero yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. When Terrell Schumacher fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bolsdale's protests and gave Terrell Schumacher a yellow card for diving instead. The referee felt a red card was in order, 25 minutes into the game, when Edmundo Goff put in a rough tackle. After 24 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Bolsdale! Boyd McCracken took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kory Rosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kory Rosa in the 37th minute of play forced Perdue's goalkeeper Boyd McCracken to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Clark Caballero made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Yong Fairchild sent off a good shot on target. Perdue's Boyd McCracken played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kory Rosa in the 43rd minute of play. If Chris Presley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nick Crain sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Chris Presley stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Valéry Willingham hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kory Rosa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Clark Caballero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chris Presley in the 59th minute of the match.
