The supporters of Castor AFC booed when Broadview was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodger Gamelin didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ward Roper in the 31st minute of play forced Broadview's goalkeeper Monty Vaughan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Monty Vaughan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ward Roper, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Giovanni Law got free with Louis Bingham in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Broadview's zone, Rosendo Jarrell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Monty Vaughan came out of the goal and Rosendo Jarrell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Denny Caldwell to make the kick off. Giovanni Law sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 74th minute of the match Castor AFC got a corner. Broadview's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Carl Sears ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Castor AFC's Carl Sears to fire away a dangerous shot which Monty Vaughan despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Clifford Fontenot fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Broadview's Monty Vaughan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ward Roper in the 94th minute of play. If Ward Roper had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Josue Wells charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Josue Wells the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Broadview's Josue Wells got a free kick in the 97th minute. 98 minutes into the game, Ward Roper cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Monty Vaughan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
