The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carmen Lebel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Essex's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Birsay the free kick. Lionel Farley was extremely unlucky when he, in the 54th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. When the match had gone on for 55 minutes, Carmen Lebel took a quick shot and it went in 1-6 without a chance for Danny Leroux to make any attempt to save it.
