Essex's Danny Leroux played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustin Ames in the 13th minute of play. After 16 minutes, Sean Coleman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Commanda and the Essex players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Commanda's Sean Coleman got a free kick in the 16th minute. In the 17th minute, Haywood Quiron hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Essex's Alfred McClain got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Frankie Drummond showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfred McClain in the 28th minute of the match. When Sean Coleman came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Commanda fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sean Coleman couldn't finish the play. Danny Leroux made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustin Ames in the 31st minute of play. Frankie Drummond showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfred McClain, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. If Sean Coleman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
