Glen Reid fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vern Smiley having to interfere. Vern Smiley stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Denis Dawkins's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. In the 16th minute, Désiré Rowland ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Philbert Guinn was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 22nd minute Denis Dawkins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vern Smiley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 23rd match minute, Hecate FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evan Pugh to maneuver through the defense. In the 31stth minute of the game Shawn Stout who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tracy AFC's Philbert Guinn was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Palmer Arcouet hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. If Shawn Stout had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Philbert Guinn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Shawn Stout, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Glen Reid could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Vern Smiley made a huge save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Denis Dawkins made the kick off in the second half. When Denis Dawkins came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Tracy AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Denis Dawkins couldn't finish the play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 67th minute of the game. One of Hecate FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Tracy AFC:s goal. Vern Smiley went to the wrong direction when Vince Caballero was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Tracy AFC's Glen Reid got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Malcolm Dalton during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Malcolm Dalton kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. 91 minutes into the game, Hecate FC's Désiré Rowland nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Philbert Guinn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. The Tracy AFC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Hecate FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Hecate FC.
