The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Johnny McNair's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Milan Huard was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. Mitch Engle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dino Hunt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dino Hunt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mitch Engle having to make a save. After having played for 10 minutes, Gautier Wheeler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paulatuk AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gautier Wheeler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 15 minutes into the match, Dino Hunt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mitch Engle. Hagersville AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dino Hunt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After taking down the ball on Hagersville AFC's corner Johnny McNair fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Milan Huard quite easily take care of the ball.
