The audience was convinced that Lon Morrison's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eddie Senneville was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. After having played for 19 minutes, Todd Hawkins managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Morson FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Todd Hawkins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jonathan Ulrich showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ulysses Arias, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Ulysses Arias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ulrich having to interfere. If Todd Hawkins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st minute, Ulysses Arias fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Gallows AFC's zone, Ulysses Arias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ulrich came out of the goal and Ulysses Arias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mohammed Bédard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eddie Senneville made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mohammed Bédard in the 43rd minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Gallows AFC's Mohammed Bédard got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 59th minute of the game. One of Morson FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Gallows AFC:s goal. In the 72nd minute Lon Morrison shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eddie Senneville saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Gallows AFC's zone, Ulysses Arias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ulrich came out of the goal and Ulysses Arias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gallows AFC's Lon Morrison got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jonathan Ulrich showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulysses Arias in the 88th minute of the match. Mohammed Bédard scored 0-2 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eddie Senneville, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jonathan Ulrich showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chadwick Sheridan in the 96th minute of the match.
