The crowd rose to their feet as Drinkwater AFC's Thanh Vera slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jackie Desnoyers. That made the score 2-1 after 15 minutes of play. Jackie Desnoyers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eloy Richmond in the 25th minute. When Colombe Yost fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Edmonton Soccer Centre's protests and gave Colombe Yost a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Drinkwater AFC booed when Edmonton Soccer Centre was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Colombe Yost didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jackie Desnoyers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thanh Vera in the 26th minute of play. Jackie Desnoyers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thanh Vera, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Otto Dube received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Dudley Chavis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Otto Dube made a kick off. If Cleo Fish had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Drinkwater AFC's goalkeeper Dudley Chavis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cleo Fish fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dudley Chavis having to interfere.
