The supporters of Chimo FC booed when Gorlitz AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Heath Lord didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Earl Douffett managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chimo FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Earl Douffett was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Grady Lécuyer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Gorlitz AFC's Victor Booker got a free kick in the 28th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Earl Douffett in the 30th minute of play forced Gorlitz AFC's goalkeeper Grady Lécuyer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Earl Douffett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37th minute Oswaldo Mayberry shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clément McClellan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Oswaldo Mayberry might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Clément McClellan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gorlitz AFC's Grady Lécuyer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonah Lavoie in the 47th minute of play. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jonah Lavoie to make the kick off. In a very dangerous position, a player in Chimo FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 55th minute. Penalty! In the 57th minute there was a penalty for Gorlitz AFC. Victor Booker stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Clément McClellan. 1-0. In the 59th match minute, Gorlitz AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clark Lilly to maneuver through the defense. Earl Douffett struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Gorlitz AFC's zone, Jonah Lavoie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Grady Lécuyer came out of the goal and Jonah Lavoie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luigi Frazier during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Earl Douffett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
