If Eddie Carrière had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dennis Desrosiers in the 15th minute of play forced Hylo's goalkeeper Max Mansfield to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eddie Carrière received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Max Mansfield tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Dennis Desrosiers fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mulvihill's protests and gave Dennis Desrosiers a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Mulvihill's Dennis Desrosiers got a free kick in the 21st minute. Humberto Medley struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Max Mansfield didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mulvihill. Max Mansfield showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Humberto Medley in the 25th minute of the match. Oswaldo Sands made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Jackie Colbert sent off a good shot on target. Dennis Desrosiers was shown his second yellow card after 34 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Jackie Colbert could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Oswaldo Sands made a huge save. Mulvihill's Oswaldo Sands played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pasquale Laderoute in the 38th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Mulvihill's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Pasquale Laderoute fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Adam Thomason hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. 44 minutes into the game, Galen Douglas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hylo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mulvihill the free kick. Forrest Hayes shot the penalty kick right outside the post.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Humberto Medley to make the kick off. Columbus Aaron kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jackie Colbert in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Oswaldo Sands saved Mulvihill from getting behind. When Eddie Carrière fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mulvihill's protests and gave Eddie Carrière a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Mulvihill getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Eddie Carrière hit a great ball. In the 67th match minute, Mulvihill was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauricio Spicer to maneuver through the defense.
