Spectators: 6743 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1743, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Bruce Bates got the match started through his kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernie Capps in the 4th minute of play forced Richmond's goalkeeper Prosper Osborn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nicholas Faucher in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Prosper Osborn saved Richmond from getting behind. Chibougamau's Bernie Capps got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Chibougamau's Bernie Capps in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Norberto Meyer's late challenge caught a Chibougamau's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Norberto Meyer helped the player get up and apologised. Nicholas Faucher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Prosper Osborn having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Marty Audet managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chibougamau's supporters rose to their feet, but Marty Audet was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Prosper Osborn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jérôme Rodgers during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 37 played minutes Richmond got a freekick which was hit by Jérôme Rodgers. Claude Rushing fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jose Paul having to interfere. Harrison Robillard kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. 48 minutes into the match, Richmond's Carol Yazzie broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

57 minutes into the match, Chibougamau's goal looked a bit too open when Bruce Bates came free, but Jose Paul reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jose Paul showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claude Rushing in the 58th minute of the match. In the 59th minute Bruce Bates shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jose Paul saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claude Rushing in the 62nd minute of play forced Chibougamau's goalkeeper Jose Paul to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 67 minutes into the match, Chibougamau's goal looked a bit too open when Bruce Bates came free, but Jose Paul reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Marty Audet fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chibougamau's protests and gave Marty Audet a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Richmond booed when Chibougamau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marty Audet didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carol Yazzie was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 72nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 74th minute Bruce Bates shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jose Paul saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jose Paul stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bruce Bates's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. Claude Rushing received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Jose Paul tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 90 played minutes, Richmond's Brice Bérard shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jose Paul came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Richmond reached it. An unexpected shot in the 94th minute by Nicholas Faucher got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Claude Rushing received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Jose Paul tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Richmond had won after a very even match.
