After a rather tough play, Nominingue's Burl Covillon got a free kick in the 9th minute. Arena FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dallas Benson in the 14th minute. The corner ended in Dallas Benson almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Nominingue's Renato Hamlin did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Burl Covillon in the 16th minute of play forced Arena FC's goalkeeper Lawrence Feliciano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 18 minutes into the match, Arena FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alden Foreman came free, but Lawrence Feliciano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Burl Covillon fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nominingue's protests and gave Burl Covillon a yellow card for diving instead. In the 21st minute, Burl Covillon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lawrence Feliciano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alden Foreman in the 26th minute of play. If Quentin Belanger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute.
