Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 5th minute, Duane Zimmer made a precise shot to the right of Noble McLaughlin. In the 8thth minute of the game Duane Zimmer who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Falconbridge's Noble McLaughlin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jeffry Crandall charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jeffry Crandall the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 10th minute of the match Rocco Whitaker shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Noble McLaughlin showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 25th minute, Carol Wells made a precise shot to the right of Noble McLaughlin. Falconbridge's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rod Goode in the 28th minute of play forced Walsh's goalkeeper Chas Ellison to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chas Ellison was out of position in the 30 minute of play, and Rod Goode capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Rod Goode really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. After the first half Walsh were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carol Wells to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Falconbridge's goalkeeper Noble McLaughlin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Duane Zimmer. In the 56th minute Antwan Worthington shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chas Ellison saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Carol Wells had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 97 minutes into the match, Walsh's Carol Wells sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Noble McLaughlin narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
