But to his dismay, Rod Goode quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 36 minutes into the match, Antwan Worthington had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Francis Brock. Shabagua's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Antwan Worthington was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. With an all-out effort, Shabagua's Noble McLaughlin threw himself towards the right post 45 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Wilbert Douglas, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 47 minutes into the game, Olen Mason was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Shabagua's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Falconbridge the free kick. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The supporters of Falconbridge booed when Shabagua was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olen Mason didn't get a good kick on the ball.
