Justin Colvin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastian Baca having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Lino Timmons managed to get in a good position for a shot. Coulter FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Lino Timmons was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sebastian Baca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hope's Sebastian Baca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Justin Colvin in the 22nd minute of play. Lino Timmons received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Sebastian Baca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

After 51 played minutes Hope got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Thorpe. Lino Timmons might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sebastian Baca. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lino Timmons ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Hope getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Derick Robert hit a great ball. The tension between the Coulter FC and the Hope players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sebastian Baca was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Coulter FC's Jamal Polk got a free kick in the 70th minute. The referee ignored Hope's protests and gave Alfonso Shapiro a yellow card for diving instead.
