The Beverly fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Art Rushing should have stopped the shot. 44 minutes into the match, Cliffside FC's goalkeeper Leandro Labrecque had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mark Baird. Through an outstanding action, after 46 minutes, Leandro Labrecque successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 48th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cliffside FC's goalkeeper Leandro Labrecque, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Beverly players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Cliffside FC were winning 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dong Parmentier was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute of the match Beverly got a corner. Cliffside FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Branden Gougeon ran over to the corner to take the kick. When Rodolphe Raymond fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cliffside FC's protests and gave Rodolphe Raymond a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Beverly booed when Cliffside FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodolphe Raymond didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 59 played minutes Beverly got a freekick which was hit by Branden Gougeon. Art Rushing showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Lampron in the 61st minute of the match. Raymond Snyder could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Art Rushing made a huge save. Dong Parmentier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leandro Labrecque having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Cliffside FC's Luke Vann got a free kick in the 67th minute. Rodolphe Raymond hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Russel Lepage kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Raymond Snyder scored 0-4 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Art Rushing, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Frank Lampron blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Art Rushing having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Dong Parmentier's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leandro Labrecque was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. If Dong Parmentier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Cliffside FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
