Spectators: 6719 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1719, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Sydney Guillory started the match with the kick off. In the 2nd minute of the game, Malcom Echeverri landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bradley Waldron during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 3rd minute, Bradley Waldron hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Noe Yost made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jason Hargrove in the 4th minute. Merle Burrows showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jarvis Richards in the 10th minute of the match. Sal Hay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Noe Yost tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Kangerthialuksoak AFC booed when Edwardsville was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roger Riquet didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Kangerthialuksoak AFC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Lavern Deschenes hit a great ball. Chance Saunders was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 21st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Sandy Gilbert kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Merle Burrows came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Edwardsville's Jarvis Richards. But to his dismay, Jarvis Richards quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arden Martinez in the 31st minute of play forced Kangerthialuksoak AFC's goalkeeper Merle Burrows to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Arden Martinez came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Edwardsville fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arden Martinez couldn't finish the play. Arden Martinez might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Merle Burrows. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arden Martinez ran back to his position shaking his head. Merle Burrows took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jarvis Richards, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Edwardsville were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jarvis Richards was the one to do the kick off. In the last second Merle Burrows throw himself and got hold of the ball when Jarvis Richards in the 56thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. The audience was convinced that Jason Hargrove's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Noe Yost was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. Noe Yost made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jason Hargrove in the 60th minute of play. After 68 played minutes Edwardsville got a freekick which was hit by Jarvis Richards. Sydney Guillory hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Merle Burrows showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jarvis Richards, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. After a rather tough play, Kangerthialuksoak AFC's Sal Hay got a free kick in the 74th minute. Noe Yost took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ignace Griffith, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Noe Yost showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jason Hargrove, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. In the 81st minute Jarvis Richards shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Merle Burrows saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jarvis Richards sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Edwardsville players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
