Mel Lejeune showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexandre Rosario in the 3rd minute of the match. Herschel Strange sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandre Rosario in the 18th minute of play forced Chesterfield AFC's goalkeeper Mel Lejeune to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 24 minutes into the match, Herschel Strange had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mel Lejeune. Mel Lejeune tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alexandre Rosario to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brian Solomon during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 54th minute, one of Cumberland:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Cumberland. In the 59th match minute, Chesterfield AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chris Simms to maneuver through the defense. Mel Lejeune made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Herschel Strange sent off a good shot on target. In the 100th minute Alexandre Rosario shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mel Lejeune saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
