Travis Cabrera charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Travis Cabrera the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Chesterfield AFC's Travis Cabrera got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 25th minute, Louis Siegel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot by Loic Bizier from long distance, 26 minutes into the match, got Joseph Akins's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The supporters of Chesterfield AFC booed when Carmel AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Louis Siegel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chesterfield AFC's Loic Bizier shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 29th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Joseph Akins but with some difficulty. In the 37thth minute of the game Patrick Garnier who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Carmel AFC's Joseph Akins was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mel Lejeune made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peter Zimmerman in the 42nd minute of play. After having played for 45 minutes, Patrick Garnier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chesterfield AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patrick Garnier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Peter Zimmerman made the kick off in the second half. Joseph Akins didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Palmer Bingham went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jerold May during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 57th minute, one of Chesterfield AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Chesterfield AFC. The goalkeeper, Mel Lejeune, was totally fooled by Carmel AFC's Ramiro Arias, who 59 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Carmel AFC's Vincenzo Brodeur got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Palmer Bingham managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chesterfield AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Palmer Bingham was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joseph Akins breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Palmer Bingham struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Joseph Akins didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chesterfield AFC. Patrick Garnier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Chesterfield AFC's zone, Peter Zimmerman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mel Lejeune came out of the goal and Peter Zimmerman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mel Lejeune made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vincenzo Brodeur in the 94th minute. 94 minutes into the game, Terrence Pelchat was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chesterfield AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carmel AFC the free kick. In the 95th match minute, Chesterfield AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Terrence Pelchat to maneuver through the defense. Carmel AFC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
