Spectators: 6740 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1740, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Diodore Manley made the kick off which started today's match. In the 5th match minute, Shebandowan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Monte Roark to maneuver through the defense. Brian Solomon, 6 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After some careless play in the Shebandowan defense, Alexandre Rosario kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Merrill Dionne. The Shebandowan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Merrill Dionne should have stopped the shot. 19 minutes into the game, Ken Bartlett was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cumberland's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Shebandowan the free kick. The supporters of Shebandowan booed when Cumberland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ken Bartlett didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anatole Ballard got free with Wilton Smalls in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Herschel Strange had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alexandre Rosario sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Herschel Strange received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Merrill Dionne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Shebandowan defense, Alexandre Rosario kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Merrill Dionne. Herschel Strange could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Merrill Dionne made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Shebandowan's zone, Alexandre Rosario stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Merrill Dionne came out of the goal and Alexandre Rosario tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Ken Bartlett was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 57 minutes had been played. Ken Bartlett kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Anatole Ballard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilton Smalls having to interfere. Merrill Dionne made an important save on a dangerous shot by Herschel Strange in the 73rd minute. Merrill Dionne made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Herschel Strange sent off a good shot on target. Shebandowan's Merrill Dionne proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Shebandowan from getting a goal against them. After 79 played minutes Cumberland got a freekick which was hit by Alexandre Rosario. Merrill Dionne came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Cumberland's Herschel Strange. But to his dismay, Herschel Strange quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. Shebandowan's Merrill Dionne played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herschel Strange in the 85th minute of play. Herschel Strange struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Merrill Dionne didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cumberland. If Herschel Strange had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Robert Orozco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Merrill Dionne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
