Spectators: 6726 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Arturo Higgins made the kick off which started today's match. After a rather tough play, Excel's Norman Jacobs got a free kick in the 2nd minute. In the 3rd minute, Debert's Wilton Pena dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. 11 minutes into the match, Arturo Higgins had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Buford Dykes. Debert's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arturo Higgins was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. 19 minutes into the match, Debert's goal looked a bit too open when Damion Grayson came free, but Buford Dykes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 22nd match minute, Excel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Charlie Beaulac to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Charlie Beaulac during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 29 minutes, Connie Mayfield mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Excel and the Debert players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 29th match minute, Excel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Connie Mayfield to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Excel's zone, Florentino Flint stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leslie Briard came out of the goal and Florentino Flint tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Excel's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Wilton Pena 31 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-1. Léon Ruel kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Wilton Pena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Leslie Briard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Shawn McCarthy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The wind increased when Wilton Pena made the kick off in the second half. Damion Grayson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arturo Higgins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Damion Grayson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Buford Dykes came out and tried to block the shot, but Damion Grayson slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 57th minute. If Damion Grayson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Florentino Flint fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leslie Briard having to interfere. Wilton Pena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leslie Briard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florentino Flint, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 80 minutes, Arturo Higgins took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Buford Dykes to make any attempt to save it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mary Lentz in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leslie Briard prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Debert's Wilton Pena got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 91 minutes, Wilton Pena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Debert's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wilton Pena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Excel's zone, Shawn McCarthy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leslie Briard came out of the goal and Shawn McCarthy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Florentino Flint fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leslie Briard having to interfere. The Debert supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Excel's performance. The match ended with a win for Excel.
