Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Jimmy Thomas made the kick off which started today's match. Jimmy Thomas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Jean Turgeon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roberto Murphy was a little too slow when Sang Mazuret got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 7th minute. The score was now 1-0. Jean Turgeon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jimmy Thomas went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. With a little luck, Kirriemuir's Roberto Murphy got control of the ball when Rich Deleon tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dominick Shelton in the 28th minute of play forced Sandwith FC's goalkeeper Jean Turgeon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dominick Shelton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Jean Turgeon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 31st minute Jimmy Thomas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean Turgeon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Al Laws struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Roberto Murphy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sandwith FC. A hard shot 37 in the game by Lester Ryder from a close distance when the talented Roberto Murphy managed to make a qualified save. Kirriemuir's players were relieved. Jean Turgeon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jimmy Thomas in the 45th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lester Ryder made a kick off. Jimmy Thomas struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Jean Turgeon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kirriemuir. The score was now 2-2. 70 minutes into the match, Kirriemuir's goal looked a bit too open when Theo Laird came free, but Roberto Murphy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Lester Ryder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jean Turgeon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jimmy Thomas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lester Ryder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roberto Murphy having to interfere. 78 minutes into the match, Kirriemuir's goal looked a bit too open when Lester Ryder came free, but Roberto Murphy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lester Ryder in the 82nd minute of play forced Kirriemuir's goalkeeper Roberto Murphy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rd minute, Shawn Gregory hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 83 minutes into the match, Al Laws had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Roberto Murphy. Kirriemuir's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Al Laws was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. After 89 minutes of play, Sandwith FC's Al Laws made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Roberto Murphy was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jean Turgeon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jimmy Thomas's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. Sandwith FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
