Kirriemuir's supporters crossed their fingers, but Basile Schroeder was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Jimmy Thomas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sandwith FC's Jean Turgeon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Sandwith FC from getting a goal against them. After having played for 41 minutes, Lester Ryder managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sandwith FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lester Ryder was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jean Turgeon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rich Deleon kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. In the 96th minute, Jimmy Thomas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kirriemuir fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2.
