DeWette's Barrett Watts proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save DeWette from getting a goal against them. Wilfredo Flores received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Barrett Watts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Aron Clinton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tanner Major might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Barrett Watts. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tanner Major ran back to his position shaking his head. Barrett Watts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aron Clinton in the 26th minute of the match. A collision led to DeWette getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Dan Hastings hit a great ball. Sicamous's Bud Crabtree shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 35th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Barrett Watts but with some difficulty. Gerald Ruel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hobert England having to interfere. If Gerald Ruel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Emerson Faulk fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sicamous's protests and gave Emerson Faulk a yellow card for diving instead. 48 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sicamous's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Morris Watkins was slow to take the kick. During this time DeWette's players had a chance to rest. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aron Clinton was the one to do the kick off. Brian Gray sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
