The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Gustave Hughes came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Québec FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustave Hughes couldn't finish the play. If Sébastien Dennis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Harris Preston received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Barrett Watts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sébastien Dennis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barrett Watts having to interfere. Austin Dennis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Domingo Rowe went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 23 minutes into the match, DeWette's Gerald Ruel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Austin Dennis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 27 minutes into the match, Québec FC's goalkeeper Austin Dennis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gerald Ruel. Domingo Rowe's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Austin Dennis firmly grabbed it by the left post. Thanks to some nice moves Gerald Ruel could shoot a difficult shot in the 32nd minute, which Austin Dennis however easily saved by the left post. 33 minutes into the match, Québec FC's goal looked a bit too open when Brian Gray came free, but Austin Dennis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in DeWette's zone, Sébastien Dennis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Barrett Watts came out of the goal and Sébastien Dennis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 40 minutes into the match, Sébastien Dennis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Barrett Watts. DeWette's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sébastien Dennis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Brian Gray received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Austin Dennis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 46th minute, Harris Preston left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Québec FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2.
In the 52nd minute, Sébastien Dennis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sébastien Dennis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Barrett Watts made a huge save. The attack was good, but when Sébastien Dennis in the 58th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Harris Preston got free with Barrett Watts in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sébastien Dennis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barrett Watts having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Sébastien Dennis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Barrett Watts was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. Barrett Watts came out of the goal and Sébastien Dennis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind DeWette's goalkeeper Barrett Watts, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brian Gray in the 68th minute of play forced Québec FC's goalkeeper Austin Dennis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Austin Dennis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerald Ruel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 70th minute, Brian Gray made a precise shot to the right of Austin Dennis. Québec FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Harris Preston got free with Barrett Watts in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Barrett Watts stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sébastien Dennis's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. After a defensive mix-up in DeWette's zone, Gustave Hughes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Barrett Watts came out of the goal and Gustave Hughes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Québec FC's Sébastien Dennis in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye DeWette's goalie prevented a goal. Harris Preston could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Barrett Watts made a huge save.
