Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Branden Irvin in the 16th minute of play forced Québec FC's goalkeeper Austin Dennis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sébastien Dennis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John Cornett having to interfere. Herbert Bertrand hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. When Québec FC's Sébastien Dennis in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mattice reached it. If Leopoldo Navarro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Desmond Hodges in the 44th minute of play forced Québec FC's goalkeeper Austin Dennis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Québec FC defense, Clemente Asselin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Austin Dennis. The Québec FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Austin Dennis should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Branden Irvin made the kick off in the second half. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Mattice's goalkeeper John Cornett, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Austin Dennis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Clemente Asselin in the 63rd minute. The supporters of Mattice booed when Québec FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustave Hughes didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpected shot in the 67th minute by Leopoldo Navarro got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. With his leg Austin Dennis managed to avoid a goal in the 67thth minute, when Mattice's Branden Irvin fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Sébastien Dennis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Québec FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Sébastien Dennis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. John Cornett breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Austin Dennis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Branden Irvin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sébastien Dennis struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. John Cornett didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Québec FC. The supporters of Québec FC booed when Mattice was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clemente Asselin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 87 minutes of play, Mattice's Leopoldo Navarro made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Austin Dennis was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 94th minute, Sébastien Dennis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Québec FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Mattice's performance. The match ended with a win for Mattice.
