In the 26th minute, Laurent Bartley got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Laurent Bartley might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Barrett Watts. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Laurent Bartley ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, DeWette's Domingo Rowe got a free kick in the 31st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Quincy McCall in the 32nd minute of play forced DeWette's goalkeeper Barrett Watts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Laurent Bartley in the 33rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Barrett Watts, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 41 minutes into the game, Rainier Mays was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. DeWette's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Madawaska FC the free kick. DeWette's Barrett Watts proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save DeWette from getting a goal against them.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Brian Gray was the one to do the kick off.
