Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Brian Gray started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Quincy McCall in the 2nd minute of play forced DeWette's goalkeeper Barrett Watts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Laurent Bartley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Quincy McCall struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Barrett Watts didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Madawaska FC. In the 7th minute Brian Gray shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmund Sexton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as DeWette's Brian Gray slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Edmund Sexton. That made the score 1-0 after 9 minutes of play. Barrett Watts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laurent Bartley in the 16th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Madawaska FC's Bernie Cartwright got a free kick in the 41st minute. Domingo Rowe's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edmund Sexton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. Barrett Watts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laurent Bartley, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Quincy McCall made a kick off. Quincy McCall in the 54thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Barrett Watts, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a defensive mix-up in Madawaska FC's zone, Gerald Ruel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edmund Sexton came out of the goal and Gerald Ruel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Madawaska FC's Jude Robison got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Gerald Ruel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Edmund Sexton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edmund Sexton didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Brian Gray went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. In the 71st minute Gerald Ruel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmund Sexton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Quincy McCall recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
