Rodger Leary charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rodger Leary the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Peterbell booed when Bretona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodger Leary didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sang McLaughlin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Burt Gervais, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Cedric Lemaître's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dillon Blanton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. In the 36th minute, Peterbell's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ismael McDaniel fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After 40 played minutes Cedric Lemaître rounded Peterbell's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. In the 43rd match minute, Bretona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cedric Lemaître to maneuver through the defense. After 44 played minutes, Peterbell's Ken Primeau shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sang McLaughlin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Peterbell reached it. Dillon Blanton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cedric Lemaître in the 47th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Burt Gervais to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Peterbell got a freekick which was hit by Rupert McNally. In the 52nd minute of the match Roman Watts sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dillon Blanton skillfully saved the ball. 54 minutes into the match, Peterbell's goal looked a bit too open when Cedric Lemaître came free, but Dillon Blanton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
