If Darrell Samuel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dusty Cannon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Nigel Veilleux tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nigel Veilleux showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Darrell Samuel, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Barton Werner received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ronald Goff came out and tried to block the shot, but Barton Werner slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 19th minute. 22 minutes into the match, Downsview's goal looked a bit too open when Darrell Samuel came free, but Nigel Veilleux reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Downsview's goalkeeper Nigel Veilleux, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Nordegg booed when Downsview was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paschal Noël didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nigel Veilleux came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Nordegg's Darrell Samuel. But to his dismay, Darrell Samuel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Darrell Samuel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nigel Veilleux having to interfere. Nordegg's defense didn't have a chance, in the 39th minute, when Barton Werner scored to the left of an out of position Ronald Goff, making the score, 2-1. If Darrell Samuel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ronald Goff made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Barton Werner in the 44th minute of play. In the 46th minute Barton Werner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronald Goff saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 47 minutes into the match, Downsview's Barton Werner sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ronald Goff narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

After some careless play in the Downsview defense, Darrell Samuel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nigel Veilleux. The Downsview fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nigel Veilleux should have stopped the shot. Ronald Goff showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paschal Noël in the 86th minute of the match. Paschal Noël received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Ronald Goff tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 89 minutes, Barton Werner mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Downsview and the Nordegg players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 89th match minute, Downsview was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barton Werner to maneuver through the defense. Nordegg's Dusty Cannon got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nordegg's Ronald Goff played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paschal Noël in the 96th minute of play.
