Louis Cote took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 4th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mike English. Sarrail's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Dirk Aponte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mike English having to interfere. Hectanooga's Connie Kimbrough proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Hectanooga from getting a goal against them. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sarrail's goalkeeper Mike English, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mike English showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leon Nadeau, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Leon Nadeau fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mike English having to interfere. Dick Walton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hectanooga's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Teodoro Grady 26 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Sarrail's zone, Leon Nadeau stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mike English came out of the goal and Leon Nadeau tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dick Walton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Connie Kimbrough having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Hectanooga's zone, Dick Walton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Connie Kimbrough came out of the goal and Dick Walton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Dick Walton came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Sarrail fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dick Walton couldn't finish the play. Sarrail's Teodoro Grady got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 44 minutes into the match, Hectanooga's goal looked a bit too open when Teodoro Grady came free, but Connie Kimbrough reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Hectanooga's zone, Teodoro Grady stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Connie Kimbrough came out of the goal and Teodoro Grady tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

When Corentin Metivier fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sarrail's protests and gave Corentin Metivier a yellow card for diving instead. In the 53rd minute, Corentin Metivier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 54th minute, Leon Nadeau got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leon Nadeau received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Mike English tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 64 minutes of play, Sarrail's Dick Walton made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Connie Kimbrough was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 74th minute, Dirk Aponte made a precise shot to the right of Mike English. Sarrail's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Teodoro Grady received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Connie Kimbrough tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Teodoro Grady scored 3-1 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Connie Kimbrough, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Dirk Aponte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 93 minutes, Bertrand Early mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sarrail and the Hectanooga players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Sarrail's Bertrand Early got a free kick in the 95th minute. Sarrail were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Hectanooga for a fine match.
