When Bretona's Ismael McDaniel in the 3rd minute got a chance for a shot 3rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Yale's goalie prevented a goal. After 6 minutes, Josh Saunders mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yale and the Bretona players grew even worse after the yellow card. Mohammad Hartley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ismael McDaniel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 17 minutes, Jon Ledford mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yale and the Bretona players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 17th match minute, Yale was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jon Ledford to maneuver through the defense. Sang McLaughlin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Franklin Bourget, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. When Fritz Nieves fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bretona's protests and gave Fritz Nieves a yellow card for diving instead. In the 23rd match minute, Bretona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fritz Nieves to maneuver through the defense. Corin Medley's shot from long distance in the 25th minute was not bad at all, but Bretona's Sang McLaughlin knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. If Ethan Harrell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bretona's goalkeeper Sang McLaughlin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mohammad Hartley came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Bretona's Léon Cottrell. But to his dismay, Léon Cottrell quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 40 minutes into the game, Hobert Cyr was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Yale's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bretona the free kick. Hobert Cyr hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Franklin Bourget could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Sang McLaughlin made a huge save. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

51 minutes into the match, Yale's goalkeeper Mohammad Hartley had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ismael McDaniel. Ismael McDaniel's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Mohammad Hartley firmly grabbed it by the left post. Ethan Harrell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sang McLaughlin having to interfere. After 58 played minutes Bretona got a freekick which was hit by Cedric Lemaître. After 63 played minutes Yale got a freekick which was hit by Corin Medley. The attack was good, but when Ismael McDaniel in the 67th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. If Ethan Harrell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Franklin Bourget came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Yale fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Franklin Bourget couldn't finish the play. Sang McLaughlin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ethan Harrell in the 75th minute of the match. In the 78th minute Franklin Bourget shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sang McLaughlin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Josh Saunders hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Mohammad Hartley acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 82nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Roman Watts. 85 minutes into the match, Bretona's goal looked a bit too open when Ethan Harrell came free, but Sang McLaughlin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mohammad Hartley made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Ismael McDaniel sent off a good shot on target. Ismael McDaniel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mohammad Hartley having to interfere. Cedric Lemaître hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
