After a defensive mix-up in Downsview's zone, Mathis Crump stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nigel Veilleux came out of the goal and Mathis Crump tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Barton Werner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Barton Werner made a kick off. Nigel Veilleux showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mathis Crump, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. After having played for 58 minutes, Mathis Crump managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Turbine's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mathis Crump was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Downsview's Barton Werner got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Barton Werner's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mariano Hager was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. 64 minutes into the match, Neville Saucier notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Downsview's Nigel Veilleux. Nigel Veilleux was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Downsview's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When Barton Werner came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Downsview fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Barton Werner couldn't finish the play. The Turbine supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Downsview's performance. The match ended with a win for Downsview.
