Bretona's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hectanooga the free kick. Connie Kimbrough made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ismael McDaniel got free with Connie Kimbrough in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cedric Lemaître recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Hectanooga's zone, Ismael McDaniel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Connie Kimbrough came out of the goal and Ismael McDaniel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Dirk Aponte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ismael McDaniel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Connie Kimbrough having to interfere. After 46 played minutes Bretona got a freekick which was hit by Federico Medrano. In the 48th minute, one of Bretona:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Bretona. Bretona:s Sang McLaughlin showed great skill when he stopped Louis Cote:s penalty. After 50 minutes of play, Hectanooga's Louis Cote made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sang McLaughlin was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Ismael McDaniel made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dirk Aponte got free with Sang McLaughlin in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ismael McDaniel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ismael McDaniel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Connie Kimbrough tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ismael McDaniel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 100th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. For all the effort they put into the match, the Hectanooga players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Bretona.
