Rupert McNally didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 6 minutes, Reinaldo Devoe mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Peterbell and the Coniston players grew even worse after the yellow card. Reinaldo Devoe hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Dillon Blanton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lyle Baldwin in the 7th minute of play. Burt Gervais struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Leslie Pope didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peterbell. After a defensive mix-up in Peterbell's zone, Lyle Baldwin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dillon Blanton came out of the goal and Lyle Baldwin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Peterbell booed when Coniston was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rick Grandbois didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Coniston's goalkeeper Leslie Pope, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 31st play minutes Lyle Baldwin shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Dillon Blanton and just under the crossbar into goal. Coniston's Lyle Baldwin got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Graig Dunlap had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dillon Blanton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Graig Dunlap in the 43rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Peterbell defense, Lyle Baldwin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dillon Blanton. The Peterbell fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dillon Blanton should have stopped the shot.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Burt Gervais stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Harland Kimball made a precise shot to the right of Leslie Pope. Coniston's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. If Jean Littlejohn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Peterbell getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Efrain Epperson hit a great ball. In the 61st minute Graig Dunlap shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dillon Blanton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Burt Gervais in the 65th minute of play forced Coniston's goalkeeper Leslie Pope to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Burt Gervais came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Peterbell fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Burt Gervais couldn't finish the play. 75 minutes into the game, Rupert McNally was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Peterbell's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Coniston the free kick. In the 76th match minute, Peterbell was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rupert McNally to maneuver through the defense. 77 minutes into the match, Graig Dunlap dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Dillon Blanton, 1-3. Peterbell's defense didn't have a chance, in the 82nd minute, when Lyle Baldwin scored to the left of an out of position Dillon Blanton, making the score, 1-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Burt Gervais in the 85th minute of play forced Coniston's goalkeeper Leslie Pope to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 90th match minute, Coniston was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hoyt McGuire to maneuver through the defense. In the 95th minute, Lyle Baldwin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dillon Blanton was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-5.
