Seating: 1732, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Teodoro Grady made the kick off which started today's match. Downsview's Nigel Veilleux played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dick Walton in the 3rd minute of play. Mike English showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Barton Werner in the 15th minute of the match. Barton Werner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Bertrand Early hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. When Garry Vaughn fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sarrail's protests and gave Garry Vaughn a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Downsview booed when Sarrail was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Garry Vaughn didn't get a good kick on the ball. Shon Hurt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mike English read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. In the 28th minute, Downsview's Barton Werner dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Downsview's Nigel Veilleux played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dick Walton in the 32nd minute of play. Nigel Veilleux made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodoro Grady in the 34th minute of play. Dick Walton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Nigel Veilleux tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 42 played minutes Sarrail got a freekick which was hit by Teodoro Grady. In the 48th minute there was a penalty for Sarrail. Herman Savage stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Nigel Veilleux. 1-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Barton Werner was the one to do the kick off. Sarrail's Mike English played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barton Werner in the 90th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Barton Werner in the 93rd minute of play forced Sarrail's goalkeeper Mike English to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paschal Noël fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mike English having to interfere. Corentin Metivier kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. If Barton Werner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Sarrail supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Sarrail would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
