Spectators: 6722 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1722, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Donatien Connolly kicked off to start the match. After a rather tough play, Fonthill's Luke Hines got a free kick in the 5th minute. Von Dubé took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donatien Connolly, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Blair Amos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from James Blackburn, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Pascal Connor charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pascal Connor the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 21st minute, Pascal Connor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling James Blackburn in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Blair Amos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Von Dubé showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donatien Connolly, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. When Pascal Connor was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 29 minutes had been played. Donatien Connolly's late challenge caught a Franchere's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Donatien Connolly helped the player get up and apologised. Von Dubé made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jae Delgado in the 33rd minute. 35 minutes into the game, Luke Hines was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fonthill's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Franchere the free kick. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Brenton Cline to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when James Blackburn got free with Blair Amos in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Jae Delgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Franchere's Humberto Simms got a free kick in the 60th minute. Von Dubé stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jae Delgado's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. Fonthill's Blair Amos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brenton Cline in the 63rd minute of play. After 65 played minutes Fonthill got a freekick which was hit by Luke Hines. 66 minutes into the match, Franchere's Humberto Simms broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 70 minutes of play Fonthill's Luke Hines was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Fonthill's Luke Hines got a free kick in the 71st minute. Humberto Simms, 72 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Franchere's James Blackburn was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 74th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Brenton Cline sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Fonthill's Blair Amos got control of the ball when James Blackburn tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 86 minutes, Fidel Hickey mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fonthill and the Franchere players grew even worse after the yellow card. Blair Amos made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when James Blackburn sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Fonthill booed when Franchere was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harold Brousseau didn't get a good kick on the ball. Franchere's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
