Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 0) Stettler FC's Jackson Lacombe started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Blair Amos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jackson Lacombe in the 3rd minute of play. A collision led to Fonthill getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Luke Hines hit a great ball. Elbert Faulk's late challenge caught a Stettler FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Elbert Faulk helped the player get up and apologised. In the 6th match minute, Fonthill was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elbert Faulk to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stacy Rancourt in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Blair Amos saved Fonthill from getting behind. Jae Delgado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernest Poulin having to interfere. 14 minutes into the game, Shayne Acosta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fonthill's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Stettler FC the free kick. In the 18th minute, Prince Wallace hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 23 played minutes Fonthill got a freekick which was hit by Luke Hines. Jae Delgado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Donatien Connolly received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Ernest Poulin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 34 minutes into the match, Stettler FC's goalkeeper Ernest Poulin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jae Delgado. Stacy Rancourt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Blair Amos having to interfere. Blair Amos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jackson Lacombe in the 45th minute of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Donatien Connolly to strike the kick off in the second half. Stettler FC's Ernest Poulin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jae Delgado in the 60th minute of play. If Jackson Lacombe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Fonthill booed when Stettler FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sandy Hobbs didn't get a good kick on the ball. Blair Amos made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Stacy Rancourt sent off a good shot on target. After 83 played minutes Fonthill got a freekick which was hit by Shayne Acosta. In the 84th minute, Stettler FC's Jackson Lacombe dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-1. The Fonthill supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Stettler FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Stettler FC.
