Spectators: 6723 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 0) Warriors AFC's Lyman Nielsen started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute Phil Knutson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Harvey Rosenberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Stoneham's zone, Phil Knutson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Harvey Rosenberg came out of the goal and Phil Knutson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Basile Schwartz kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Harvey Rosenberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Phil Knutson in the 15th minute of the match. Chauncey Dubé scored 1-1 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Stan Quirion, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 22nd minute Lyman Nielsen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Harvey Rosenberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chauncey Dubé sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mario Paquin hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Chauncey Dubé fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stan Quirion having to interfere. Floyd Gage received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Stan Quirion tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 43rd minute, Carroll Payne hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Warriors AFC's Fernand Paimboeuf tried to score from far away in the 44th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Stan Quirion made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Ronald McPherson sent off a good shot on target. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Chauncey Dubé made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Stoneham booed when Warriors AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sol Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stan Quirion showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Floyd Gage, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 59th minute, Floyd Gage ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Stan Quirion was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. When Floyd Gage came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Stoneham fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Floyd Gage couldn't finish the play. Lyman Nielsen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Harvey Rosenberg having to interfere. When Chauncey Dubé came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Stoneham fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chauncey Dubé couldn't finish the play. Warriors AFC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
