Spectators: 6713 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1713, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Brooks Darnell got the match started through his kick off. In the 3rdth minute of the game Roy Huntley who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Quebec AFC's Willie Houston was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rudy Stone during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Rudy Stone hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Willie Houston made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brooks Darnell in the 5th minute of play. Rory Benoit fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cruz Stearns having to interfere. The supporters of Quebec AFC booed when Savona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lawrence Donahue didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Savona's goalkeeper Cruz Stearns, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Roy Huntley managed to get in a good position for a shot. Savona's supporters rose to their feet, but Roy Huntley was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Willie Houston breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Quebec AFC's Tad Desroches got a free kick in the 16th minute. In the 27th minute Roy Huntley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Willie Houston saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Quebec AFC's goalkeeper Willie Houston, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rory Benoit's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 30thth minute, Cruz Stearns skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Willie Houston came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Savona's Brooks Darnell. But to his dismay, Brooks Darnell quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 37th minute, Rory Benoit got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 43rd minute, Perry Frank hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Brooks Darnell in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Willie Houston prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Micah McConnell to make the kick off. If Rory Benoit had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hollis Gale hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Micah McConnell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Micah McConnell charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Micah McConnell the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Micah McConnell kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. In the 63rd minute Lawrence Donahue shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Willie Houston saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Savona's zone, Micah McConnell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cruz Stearns came out of the goal and Micah McConnell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Brooks Darnell's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Willie Houston was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. Lawrence Donahue recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Quebec AFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 71st minute, when Brooks Darnell scored to the left of an out of position Willie Houston, making the score, 0-2. Brooks Darnell's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 74thth minute, Willie Houston skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 75th minute, Tad Desroches hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Perry Frank fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Quebec AFC's protests and gave Perry Frank a yellow card for diving instead. When Savona's Brooks Darnell in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Quebec AFC's goalie prevented a goal. Quebec AFC's Willie Houston proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Quebec AFC from getting a goal against them. Hollis Gale's late challenge caught a Quebec AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hollis Gale helped the player get up and apologised. After 83 played minutes Savona got a freekick which was hit by Hollis Gale. Willie Houston showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brooks Darnell, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Savona walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
