In the 6th minute, Wes Calhoun left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Olympiakos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eric Croft in the 12th minute of play forced Olympiakos's goalkeeper Lincoln Grondin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Patrick Beyer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wes Calhoun, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. A collision led to Hermitage AFC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Buck Benoit hit a great ball. Wes Calhoun scored 0-2 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Patrick Beyer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 21st match minute, Hermitage AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jarred McWilliams to maneuver through the defense. Patrick Beyer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chad Boyd, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Olympiakos's Wes Calhoun in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Hermitage AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Olympiakos the free kick. Buck Benoit kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Patrick Beyer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wes Calhoun, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 38th match minute, Olympiakos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eddy Fay to maneuver through the defense. 43 minutes into the match, Olympiakos's goalkeeper Lincoln Grondin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eric Croft. Wes Calhoun's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Patrick Beyer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. After the first half Olympiakos were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Chad Boyd made the kick off in the second half. Chad Boyd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Patrick Beyer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 54th minute, Chad Boyd reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Patrick Beyer. The goal made the score 0-3. If Andreas Norwood had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chad Boyd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Hermitage AFC's Patrick Beyer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chad Boyd in the 63rd minute of play. In the 65th minute Andreas Norwood shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lincoln Grondin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eric Croft sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 78 played minutes Olympiakos got a freekick which was hit by Eddy Fay. Wes Calhoun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Patrick Beyer made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Wes Calhoun sent off a good shot on target. 0-6 became the score in the 91st minute when Chad Boyd elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Olympiakos eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
