Spectators: 6716 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1716, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when David Skinner made the kick off which started today's match. After a defensive mix-up in Sidney's zone, Jeramy Jackson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ollie Marin came out of the goal and Jeramy Jackson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Weldon Franks got in the 6th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Donn Waldron handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. David Skinner's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Donn Waldron read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. Lon Hills, 13 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Donn Waldron made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Weldon Franks in the 16th minute of play. David Skinner blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Donn Waldron having to make a save. In the 24th minute, Weldon Franks got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Skinner in the 26th minute of play forced Pittsburgh's goalkeeper Donn Waldron to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Randall Busby struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Ollie Marin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pittsburgh. Randall Busby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ollie Marin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Delmar Bernier's shot from short distance in the 48th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Delmar Bernier made a kick off. Pittsburgh's Delmar Bernier got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ollie Marin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Randall Busby, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 57 minutes into the game, Sidney's Weldon Franks nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Donn Waldron made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. If Delmar Bernier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Sidney getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Ernie Gilmore hit a great ball. Pittsburgh's Donn Waldron played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Skinner in the 72nd minute of play. David Skinner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donn Waldron having to interfere. Sidney's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
