After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, August Bernard managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bourkes's supporters rose to their feet, but August Bernard was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ermenegilde Soto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 22 played minutes Chambly FC got a freekick which was hit by Lawrence Olsen. The audience was convinced that August Bernard's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ermenegilde Soto was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Bourkes's Randy Hawkins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Perry Cartier in the 28th minute of play. Randy Hawkins made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alphonso McElroy in the 30th minute. Bourkes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chambly FC the free kick. Randy Hawkins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Perry Cartier in the 48th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paris Avila to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Perry Cartier in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Randy Hawkins saved Bourkes from getting behind. In the 61st minute, Alphonso McElroy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ermenegilde Soto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paris Avila, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. August Bernard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 71 minutes into the match, Bourkes's goal looked a bit too open when Perry Cartier came free, but Randy Hawkins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paris Avila received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Ermenegilde Soto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
