Stacy Richmond took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eli Ingram, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Atherley's Evan Dufour got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Evan Dufour sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Atherley booed when Matador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Murray Cuevas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Matador's Warren Reece proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Matador from getting a goal against them. 38 minutes into the match, Eli Ingram notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Atherley's Stacy Richmond. Stacy Richmond was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 47th minute of the match Loic Leclerc shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Warren Reece showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marcus Darden made a kick off. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Atherley's goalkeeper Stacy Richmond, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 66th minute, Evan Dufour ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Warren Reece was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Loren Deschamps charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Loren Deschamps the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Loren Deschamps hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eli Ingram got free with Stacy Richmond in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marcus Darden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stacy Richmond having to interfere. When Eli Ingram came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Matador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eli Ingram couldn't finish the play. Camille Binet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Warren Reece tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th minute, Evan Dufour made a precise shot to the right of Warren Reece. Matador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
